The Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) recently signed a memorandum of agreement with Goldcrest Communications Inc. (GCI), an events management and marketing company, for the staging of the 1st National Summit on Cybercrime that will be held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall on March 18-19.

The event which will be keynoted by PDG ALAN LM. PURISIMA, PNP Chief, will feature foreign and local cybercrime investigators, cyber security practitioners, and speakers from FaceBook and the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program (ATAP) of the US State Department.

Serving as the highlight of ACG’s first founding anniversary celebrations, the summit, which will be held in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Cyber Security Professionals (PICSPro) and Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PhCERT), will be followed by the re-launching on March 20 of Project Angelnet, an Internet Child Protection Program promoting the safe use of the Internet by children and a specialized Task Force to address Internet-based abuses.
